AZADI Cabaret & Dance Party
UPDATE: All seated tickets for the Cabaret portion have now been sold, but discounted tickets for the Dance Party are still available (entry after 11:30pm). We'll be dancing late late into the night to moody tech house beats so don't sleep on tickets!
The venue is 375 Kingsway at the corner of 12th, next to the 12 Kings pub. Look for the neon "love" sign.
A response to the Woman, Life, Freedom movement in Iran, AZADI Cabaret & Dance Party aims to uplift Iranian artists and DJs in "Vancouver", as well as grassroots Iranian organization Free Them Now, through this unique fundraiser. We want to provide a space for our community to find joy and connection, as well as raising awareness of the movement outside of the Iranian community. Open to all! (19+)
Half cabaret, half rave - guaranteed to be a wild night dedicated to showcasing local, top-tier Iranian talent. Featuring burlesque, drag, comedy, spoken word, live music, and DJ sets (house/techno/electronic).
Profits will be going towards Free Them Now, an organization recognized by the International Federation of Iranian Refugees. They campaign to raise money for the families of workers who are arrested, detained, and imprisoned in Iran, especially during the ongoing protests and strikes. They also try to help worker-activists who are in danger of persecution and are forced to escape the country.
